Ambisax features a traditional rhythm ensemble consisting of keyboard, bass, drums, guitar and percussion. Utilizing state-of-the-art digital programming technology, Les Fillmer arranges, programs and performs all the ensemble instrumental parts while fronting the group acoustically on both alto and tenor saxophone, creating the sound of a live six piece band for the price of only one musician.
Les Fillmer and Ambisax play swing tunes of the Thirties and Forties, Broadway classics, pop tunes, ballads and chart topping hits of the past four decades.
Background sets, perfect for dinners, cocktail parties and receptions include standards such as I Left My Heart In San Francisco and Moon River; Latin favorites such as Yellow Bird, Girl From Ipanema and Desafinado; show tunes such as Soon It’s Gonna Rain and How Are Things In Glocca Mora? in addition to dance tunes and popular standards.
